Albert DeSalvo (1931–1973) was an American criminal who confessed to being the “Boston Strangler,” responsible for a series of murders of women in the Boston area between 1962 and 1964. Although he was never tried for those murders, he was convicted of unrelated crimes and sentenced to life in prison. DeSalvo was killed in 1973 while incarcerated.
