Arthur Shawcross (1945–2008), known as the “Genesee River Killer,” was an American serial killer responsible for the murders of multiple women in New York during the late 1980s. Shawcross targeted vulnerable victims, and his crimes sparked widespread fear throughout the Rochester area before his arrest in 1990. He remains one of the most infamous serial killers in New York history.
