William Bonin (1947–1996), infamously known as the “Freeway Killer,” was an American serial killer who abducted, sexually assaulted, and murdered young men and boys in Southern California during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Bonin often disposed of victims’ bodies along freeways throughout the Los Angeles area, leading to one of the most extensive serial murder investigations in California history. He was convicted of multiple murders and executed by lethal injection in 1996.
