Charles Manson (1934–2017) was an American cult leader and criminal who led the “Manson Family,” a group responsible for a series of murders in California in 1969, including the killing of actress Sharon Tate. Though Manson did not personally commit the killings, he was convicted of orchestrating them and sentenced to life in prison, where he died in 2017.
