Edward Spreitzer is an American convicted serial killer from Chicago who was a prominent member of a sadistic four-man gang known as the "Ripper Crew" (or the Chicago Rippers). During 1981 and 1982, the group terrorized the Chicago metropolitan area by stalking, kidnapping, raping, murdering, and mutilating women. The Ripper Crew drove around Cook and DuPage counties in a red pickup van to abduct women directly off the streets. The group is suspected in the disappearances and gruesome murders of up to 20 women
