Jeffrey Don Lundgren (1950–2006) was a radical religious leader who formed a small cult in Kirtland, Ohio, during the late 1980s. Claiming to be a divine prophet, Lundgren exerted strict spiritual and psychological control over his followers. In April 1989, Lundgren and his accomplices executed a family of five sect members—including three young children—inside a barn located on the cult's farm property. After the bodies were discovered in early 1990, Lundgren was arrested, tried, and sentenced to death. He maintained that his actions were divinely ordered until his execution by lethal injection in October 2006.
