Patrick Kearney (born 1939), infamously known as the “Trash Bag Killer,” is an American serial killer convicted of murdering numerous young men and boys in California during the 1960s and 1970s. Kearney dismembered many of his victims and disposed of their remains along highways in trash bags, leading to one of the most notorious serial murder investigations in California history. He eventually confessed to dozens of killings after surrendering to authorities in 1977.
