Ronald Dominique, also known as "The Bayou Strangler," is an American serial killer and rapist who murdered at least 23 men and teenage boys in southern Louisiana between 1997 and 2006. He targeted young, transient, homeless men, frequently luring them by offering them a place to stay or marijuana before binding, sexually assaulting, and strangling them. Following his December 2006 arrest, Dominique confessed to 23 murders. In September 2008, he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to multiple consecutive terms of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole, avoiding the death penalty.
