William "Junior" Pierce was an American serial killer who committed at least nine murders between June 1970 and January 1971 in three different states. 8 1/2" x 11" press photo dated on the front March 13 1972 which reads, "Hazlehurst, GA William Joseph Pierce Jr. (shown in 5/6/71 file photo), is scheduled to go on trial in Jeff Davis Superior Court 3/14 on the second of nine murder charges. Pierce, who was convicted last September and sentenced to life imprisonment on a charge of murdering rural storekeeper, Mrs. Vivian Miles, is to be tried for the January 1971, murder of another rural storekeeper, Mrs. Helen Wilcox, 32."
