John Lotter who was sentenced to death for the 1993 murder of Teena Brandon and the killing of two witnesses. His co-defendant Thomas Nissen who some believe to be the actual killer is serving life in prison for his role in the crimes. The case inspired the 1999 movie Boys Don't Cry. 

Two page typed letter in part he mentions to his friend to write Nissen and tell him the real reason that they wrote to him. The letter is hand signed at the close, John Lotter.
