Dorothea Puente (1929–2011) was an American serial killer and boarding house operator who murdered elderly and disabled tenants in Sacramento, California, during the 1980s. Puente buried several victims on her property while continuing to cash their benefit checks, leading to one of the most shocking elder-targeted murder cases in California history. Despite her grandmotherly appearance, she became one of the most infamous female serial killers in America.
